A few days after shooting the semifinals of Chinese singing competition Rock the Web’s first season, I took the six finalists to Sanlitun Village for some ‘glamour shots’ to use as publicity for the competition. Uta, the eventual winner of the competition, was out of town that day, so I shot her pictures a couple of days later when she returned (she is the one in the red dress in the last several pictures, which were some of my favorites). In addition to being very talented singers, all six of the finalists were also very photogenic and eager to pose. And Sanlitun Village turned out to be an excellent place to shoot (except for the annoying security guards who kept hassling us despite the fact that I see at least 30 people taking pictures there with big DSLRs every time I go).
